24th Aug 11 Andrew – what can I say. I am delighted with the Eco box. Now that it has been in for a week, the car has settled and all is really well. Prior to plugging it in, I cleaned the small amount of soot from the body of the EGR; the solenoid plunger was completely free so I didn’t have to dismantle that. There was a bit of soot in the intake where the EGR attaches – I removed that and will eventually remove and clean the manifold, but the flap system is free and working well. The consumption is now much improved, cruising at my usual 80+ mph to & from LHR from Oxford it is showing 50+mpg (44-45 before) I have yet to do a brim-brim check but it is doing many more miles before the light comes on. Importantly, the response from 1500 RPM is much better, and the response in 6th gear from just under 2000 RPM is good which is what is important to me as a caravanner.
