2nd Mar 15 Hi Andy, I would just like to say a big thank you, to you and the DTUK team for great service and a great product. I ordered a PDI tuning module for my Astra J 1.7 cdti on Friday afternoon and as promised it arrived bright and early Saturday morning. It only took 10 minutes to fit and the results were astounding (but I\’ll get to that in a minute!) I originally spoke to one of your team a couple of weeks ago and discussed the fact of buying a PDI module as I had previously tried two other competitor common rail tuning modules but found that they both caused my car to go into limp mode under acceleration, on pretty much all bar one map setting. The car was noisy and rough particularly when cold. The maps were also really aggressive and unusable in everyday use, hence contacting you guys. You advised that a PDI module would be a better option due to the fact that each injector is controlled separately by opening each injector for a longer period of time to provide more fuel rather than increase the rail pressure, as common rail modules do, meaning that the ECU rail pressure sensors won\’t detect unacceptable rail pressures and trigger limp mode, To a degree I was a little sceptical, as previously mentioned I had already tried other modules with no joy and didn\’t want to waste my money again, but so many good reviews were hard to ignore. However I have to say that this module is amazing. Previously in standard form there was no power until 2k, and then you get everything thrown at you until 4k, then completely drops off after that. It was verging on dangerous when trying to pull out of junctions. However the DTUK box has a smooth progressive torque curve that starts from about 1500 rpm and pulls hard all the way through to the red line, it\’s just phenomenal. The engine on idle, even when cold is really quiet and smooth compared to standard. There is noticeably less diesel chatter too. This is how the car really should have been from the factory. I have since covered 300 miles and previously I would be able to achieve 52.6 mpg on average which is still really good for this engine. However after 300 miles with the module fitted I have achieved 60.2 mpg on the same routes I usually take, and this is not from the computer, which I ignore but from calculating fuel used by miles travelled. This has transformed what is a really disappointing car of which I was beginning to loathe, into something that puts a massive smile on your face every time I drive it and does more mpg to boot. This is a really first class product from a first class team of people, and I am really chuffed that I decided to take the gamble, well worth every penny.
