8th Jul 11 Hi Andrew, Hope you are doing well mate. As you know I have bought performance upgrades for my various cars in the past that were “supposed” to increase the power and torque in common rail diesel engines. Well, when I took delivery of my brand new Mercedes E350 CDI I was very impressed with the car. It is a very powerful car in standard form but I felt there was a lot more power to come from this car. I did my usual checks to find the ideal box that would give me the performance gains I knew that this car could deliver. I bought the racechip pro from racechip.de, they promised a significant increase in power. When it arrived I fitted it immediately on my car using their factory settings. To say I was disappointed was an under-statement. So I whipped open the back plate and upped the settings to give me more power. The car felt a bit better but that could have been more in my mind then anything else. I like to test my car with a similar car, fortunately my brother has the identical car, so we took both cars on the motorway and had a quick race. My car hardly edged in front of my brother’s car and it took nearly 2 miles to do it… big let down! I heard about your CRDT unit and thought I’d give you a call. Let me start of by telling you truly are a gentleman and actually care for your customers. What I particularly liked about your unit was that it adjusted both the fueling and turbo pressures. It was like having a remapped chip without all the hassles that actually got with remapping a car. After much anticipation your unit arrived, delivery was very prompt. Installation was pretty straight forward once I figured out how to do it, I had four maps to try out starting with the lowest power setting map installed on the moduleMap 1 setting 0. As I took the car out of the drive already I could feel the difference immediately, the engine was quieter and felt very smooth. After doing a few miles in the countryside coupled with a few miles on the motorway the car definitely felt quicker. I did the same with map 2 setting 0… wow what a map, the car really pulled hard right through the rev range… a great improvement. Map 3 and map 4 were ok too but map 2 was the best. Only problem with map 2 was in the lower revs the car was not smooth sometimes, giving more like a wave like power delivery. I told you about this and you recommended me to bring the car to your place which I took up. Well you resolved the low rev problem and did even better, you remapped the box and boy did the car fly. I thought we were done until you threw the spanner in the works! Just when I though we were done you said you had a new device that would make the car perform even better. I thought the car was really good with the modified map and was surprised when you told me to remove it and try your new pedal box. What got me was when you said that this pedal box would not increase any power but would make the car significantly faster… yeah sure. Anyway, I thought why not and went out with just the pedal box. All I can say is OMG!!! The car felt like it just had an extra turbo put in, so hard to believe that it doesn’t actually increase the power of the car. Throttle response is phenomenal, there are four maps on this box with 6 settings per map. I thought to myself why bother with the CRDT box since this felt so much more powerful. You then put the CRDT box back in my car and turned down the setting on the pedal box. Can I say it again… OMG!!! I can’t recommend it enough to have both the CRDT and pedal box… what a combination that will be very hard to beat. Oh I nearly forgot to add, this combination added 4+ mpg to my economy on normal driving so you get the best of both worlds. Also, Andrew and his company are top notch. My brother will be ordering the combination set soon as he can’t keep up with my car anymore… lol. Kind regards, BM
