27th Feb 14 Hi all at DTUK, I have just fitted the CRD-T unit to my Seat Leon. Its the 2.0 tdi FR 170CR, 2009 year. The instructions are excellent and I got the unit fitted OK, but the boost pressure plug was awkward to get to / release and refit. However, thats not your fault !! After a telephnoe conversation with you, I found in the kitchen drawer a kebab skewer, bent the end round with pliers (picture enclosed) and this did the removal job of the plug in 2 seconds flat !! I have screwed the unit to the front of the fuse box cover with a self tapper and all is neat. On ignition and start up I had no warnings etc. Just before taking the car out to test it (settings were Map 1 Plus 1) I reminded myself to try and ignore the ‘placebo effect’ we all get after doing something to the car !! I took the car on a run I use most days to go to work so I know what to expect. The car seemed a lot smoother at low speed for a start, which is good, but the real results are nothing short of amazing. I found the car spinning its wheels a lot more on accelleration up to 3rd gear which I will need to be careful of (wear out the tyres) lol. The extra power was very obvious and while overtaking a car on the A66 heard a strange noise and thought I had broken something, but it was the rev limiter cutting in, which I have not been on before !! I looked down at the speedo to see 140 mph and I thought it would be 90…….. MPG will have to be a thing I find out about over time, I will let you know. I hope to get on a rolling road this year so I will send you the results. VERY HAPPY !!! David H
