14th Jan 13 Morning Andrewas requested some feedback on the system. Firstly, the advice before buying was spot on and to the point. My W246 ’62’ plate Mercedes B180cdi was missing something and seeing as it is the same engine as the more powerful B200cdi and this engine is a deriverment of the common ‘220cdi’ engines, I knew there was scope for more. Ordering was quick and easy and delivery was next day before 1pm. Instructions were clear and fitting took max 10minvery easy and quick seeing as the connectors are easily accessible. Luckily there is a space in between the battery and air filter box where the CRDT system sits plush. Andrew was very helpful as I kept on pestering him with questions and pictures regarding where the box should sita response to my emails was immediate. Initial impressions, a noticeable improvement throughout all the gears, pick up was much better. Map 2, I didn’t really likethis was because there was absolutely nothing and I mean nothing up until 2000 revs then whoosh. Map 3 was like Map 1 but with more urgency and more powerthis was nice. But then Map 4 was something else, this car can really shift. I have finally settled on Map 4+1. Power is improved throughout the rev range and the car is now much more driveable with motorway driving a breeze and traffic light grand prix’s are much more interesting. During hard acceleration in gear 1 there is a bit of a scramble for traction but this is only during PROPER hard accelerationin Map 4+2 the wheels are just struggling to get anything down. Economy seems to have improved, during the daily routine I can clearly see an improvementhowever rigorous tests haven’t been undertaken. All in all after nearly a monththis is a very worthwhile investment and the improvement is like day and night so much so that when I had to take my brother somewhere he mentioned that it seems quicker and after a while of opening up the taps he thought I had remapped it. Reliability has been perfect so farnothing seems to be amiss.
