Audi-Sport.net 2nd Apr 15 Andrew, Finally thought I should get around to writing a testimonial for you to post up on the website…. “I purchased a CRD-T Stage 2 (Trevor) box for my A3 184ps about a month or so back. This was after some helpful discussions with Andrew and his team, as well as many hours researching peoples views and experiences on various internet forums (Audi, VAG, Seat etc) which helped me decide to go for it rather than a traditional remap, with it not only being cheaper, but easier to remove if needs be. To fit the system once it arrived was simplicity itself, even though I’m no skilled mechanic. I made sure I read every step twice, and left it 10mins after popping the bonnet to allow all the electrics to power down to be sure I didn’t generate any errors. 5 mins later, and job was done.. First impressions were very positive, with pretty much all the pedal lag removed and the increased performance especially over 1800rpm all the way through to ~4000rpm if I wanted it. I’ve now tried all the maps up to +2 on each, and compared brim to brim fuel consumption and found not much difference between the 3, but liked map 2 the best as I like the low down increased boost and slightly better mpg. I haven’t tried +3 settings yet, but will probably stick to 2+1 based on recommendations I’ve read from Andrew. I’ve just had the car in for service at the dealer, for which I removed the box. Nothing was mentioned at all when I picked the car up, so I’m assuming that it wasn’t detected/noticed. The car certainly ‘felt’ slow when I didn’t have the box on it, and I was far happier when I got the car back home and could reinstall it, brought a grin to my face the next day again… To sum up.. its certainly put fun back into driving, but without loosing usability in the process. Power is smooth, progressive and there’s lots of it without a huge loss of mpg. Insurance requirements aren’t too ridiculous either. I’ve even embarrassed a couple of S3’s with it lol..
