10th Dec 12 Hello Andrew & Team, I bought a DTUK CRD-T box off yourselves a few months back. I thought this would be some use to you and I don’t know if you have seen this on CDUK. Car: 1.3CDTI 75 5dr,running on standard 15” steel wheels shod with Conti Eco 3 tyres. The tyreswere checked weekly and ran at the eco pressures stated in the VX hand book. Over the last 4+ months and 19 full tanks of diesel I have been watching the MPG like a hawk. At 1st I wanted to do a 2 month test over 10 tanks of diesel but as a few know my original tuning box was stolen, so it’ended up as a 4+ month test with 2 types of tuning boxes. The total miles covered in the test period was 9269 miles. This does not include a forced 2 week period in I put in for the tuning boxes so the engine could get use to boxes to make it fair. Each test started and ended on the 5th tank when the needle hit half a tank. The 1st 5 tanks were with no tuning box. Then I had a 2 week period bedding the box in. The next 5 tanks I was running the older DTUK box that just plugs into the common rail. Then another 2 week period bedding the newer box after buying the newer DTUK box that plugs into the manifold &Common rail for the last. The same one as ROBIN HOOD uses. The car only ran on Shell Diesel with Millers Eco additive in the tank. I followed the instructions on the bottle to keep it fair. The test route was http://goo.gl/maps/07bw6 with other running around Merseyside mainly in town. All the MPG figures have been checked by Shell through the fuel card I use and a spare portable telematics system I borrowed from work. I simply put the starting miles in, what mileage I covered, when I filled up and how much and it worked the MPG out. Between Shell and the telematics system the results were within .5MPG of each other on all the tests. The 1st 5 tanks: Total Miles 2912 Total Fuel Used 225.42 Average MPG 58.65 The 2nd 5 tanks after 2 week break on the CRD2+ box Total Miles Driven 3116 Total Fuel Used 223.78 Average MPG 63.21 The 3rd set of 5 tanks after a 2 week on the CRD-T box Total Miles 3241 Total Fuel Used 227.83 Average MPG 64.58 I hope this will help you, Many thanks Mr Adam
